Yes..you kinda got it. It's an interactive blog. Unlike LJ and other blogs though, you can only post small messages, up to..I think 140 characters. You're not meant to write big personal things, but rahter just what you are currently doing or something that you saw and found amusing and want to share with your friends or the world, or just something that popped up in your mind and want people to know. What's good about it and makes it so interactive is that you can post updates through web, but also via IM or text message. Also, when any of your friends update, if you set the notifications right, you can get their updates through IM or text too, so you can even in a way have conversations through it. I think it's really cool and different and can be quite fun!
Is Twitter accessible for blind people? Just wondering, I'd want to know before I signed up for it.
Yes, the website is definitely very accessible. The only thing is when signing up they have that visual capture imige. They do have audio alternative, but sometimes it doesnt work, so you may need some sighted help. Once you sign up though, the website itself is very accessible. Like I said, you can also recieve twitter updates via SMS. You are meant to interact with twitter through AIM too, but for some reason their AIM bot is very unstable. If you use skype, you can recieve al the updates from any friends that are on your twitter through skype and you can also update it through skype. If you do sign up and wuld be interested in how to set up twitter for skype let me know or cotact me directly and I'll be glad to help. This goes for anyone else that's interested and of corse it goes fo any other aspect of twitter you might need help with.

Wow Twitter was around 2 years ago? My relationship with Twitter goes like this. I made an account to see what it was all about, forgot about it, then deleted the account. This was almost a year after creating it. Not long after, about last Summer, I resurrected the same account, and has been using it ever sinse.
I'm still hesitant about adding people, but it's not Facebook, where i'm quite a bit more strict on who to add.
More than 2 years ago. I've been on there since at least 2007. I would never post anything too personal on twitter, so I don't really care who adds and follows me. Whether I add them back depends on how interesting I find the person, but generally, unless someone is a spammer, is advertising something especially something I'd never be interested in, is religious nut (in the sense that religion is all they talk about and constantly keeps trying to convert/convince others who might not believe in what they do or the way they do it to do so), or I for some reason find them boring or annoying, I'll add them back. Who knows, a new friendship might be made that way and I have met some new cool people whether directly through twitter or people who just found me on here or elsewhere, decided to add me and we just ended up talking.

I have two accounts. Not because I'm just crazy, but because on one I am adding christians and post christian stuff, on the other account I just post my day to day stuff about what I'm doing and my random thoughts. Funnily enough I have more followers on my christian account but that's not what counts. Feel free to add me, my "normal" account is in my profile.
well, i guess you do learn something new everyday, cause i didn't even kno twitter had been around that long either. lol, i have an acount, but it's not in my profile, and i only give it to people i kno...meaning, people who let me kno who they are first, as my tweets are protected, so i need to conferm or block the request anyway. that's my main rule when it comes to twitter.
I usually accept everyone at first and if I see that they advertise something I really don't need, I block them again. I know it's stupid that way but I@m just nosy and want to know what they have to offer. Silly I know. Also I sometimes use twitter to update both my twitter and my facebook status and I could not do that with protected updates, I think.
I didn't know Twitter was around in 2007 either. I'm not usually into the whole social networking thing, but I joined Twitter and have had a lot of fun with it so far.
I have lots of fun with Twitter as well, but I don't add just anyone. I have to get to know people first; the same goes for Facebook.
i have lots of fun on twitter, but i'm a much privator person than i used to be these days, so just adding people just because is out of the question. sure, if you want my twitter, then message me, and if i kno you, or have talked to you before, or don't think your a creep, then you may get it. however, giving out something like facebook or skype or msn never happens until i kno someone better, (i consider them way more personal and private), so i need to kno a person for weeks/months before thoes get given out.
Are there anygood accessible programs besides Qwitter that can work with Twitter?

I've got a twitter account, address in my profile. i don't protect my tweets any more, that way celebs etc can see your replies. feel free to add me, i usually do block spammers or advertisers so beware.
but how do you tell who's a spammer on twitter?
I finally broke down and got a twitter account and got qwitter. I'm hopelessly hooked now. I got a twitter account a couple of years ago, and deleted it, thinking that it was boring, but now that I have qwitter, I love it. Haven't yet figured out how to get twitter to update my facebook though.
